Warme Weather Makes for Great Riding

Yesterday a group of about a dozen took off for a great ride "The Downieville Loop". Ride started from Bert's at 9AM headed up to Truckee to Donner Lake (see photo, over to Nevada City (via old Highway 40) Once there the group headed to Downieville where we stopped for food and fuel. The riding was outstanding, not many cars, mostly two lane fun stuff through the always beautiful Sierra's.

Once we left Downieville the group headed to Sierraville on what has to be one of the best stretches of riding around. From Sierraville over to Truckee and back to South Shore. All in all about 230 miles of fun!

Blue Rider and Son Hit the Road

Blue Rider Dave Higgins and his son Tom (San Francisco) just returned from a late April, twelve day, 2700 miles ride.

Dave and son met up in Death Valley and toured the Las Vegas area, northwestern Arizona and southwestern Utah.

The trip was a blast - perfect weather - no mechanical problems - great scenery.

Dave indicated at the last meeting he would give presentation of his ride once he sorted through his over 1,150 photos. We look forward to hearing about this dream trip.

Saturday Afternoon Ride 9 May

This past Saturday several of us took off for the first weekend ride of the season. Doyle, Mac, Russ, Jim and myself (Mike Berg joined us for the fist part of the ride.)The weather was perfect, the scenery outstanding and we had a great ride that left South Shore over Kingsbury Grade across Foothill to Markleville, over Monitor pass down to Bridgeport and Twin Lakes (See Photo). We had lunch in Bridgeport and rode home via Smith Valley then up and over Monitor Pass again. A simply incredible day!
